Privacy
Effective date:
Is My Device OK is operated by ZEDVentures Inc.. This page explains how the website handles information during device tests and what happens when you visit other websites through links.
Accounts, cookies, and analytics
The site does not provide user accounts. The current ad-free version of the site itself does not set cookies and does not use analytics. You do not need to give your name, email address, or other personal details to run a test. Test results are not saved in local storage.
Information used by tests
Data entered or captured during device tests stays in your browser. The tool code does not send test results, keyboard events, mouse inputs, controller inputs, audio, or video to us or to another service. The tests use this information to display results on the page. Closing the page ends the session.
Camera and microphone access
Microphone and webcam tests are available. They may request browser permission after you select Start microphone or Start camera. Audio and video remain on your device and are not uploaded. The webcam tool does not record video or use your microphone.
The microphone tool offers an optional five-second audio recording for playback in the page. Recording starts only when you select Record 5 seconds. The clip remains temporarily in the page until you clear it, start a new microphone session, or leave the page.
Stop, hiding the tab, or leaving the page ends active device access. Your browser may remember permission after access stops. You can change that permission in your browser settings.
Hosting and page requests
Loading a page sends standard web requests to the hosting service. The hosting provider may retain standard server logs, potentially including IP addresses, access times, and requested pages. These requests are separate from device-test inputs. The production logging settings and retention period have not been confirmed. We do not claim that browsing is anonymous or that no network traffic occurs.
Future Advertising
Advertising is not currently enabled. We plan to use Google AdSense. The current Google account verification tag does not load advertising or set cookies.
If Google ads are enabled, third-party vendors, including Google and its partners, may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Advertising services may also use web beacons, IP addresses, and browser information to deliver and measure ads.
You can manage Google's personalized advertising through My Ad Center. Read how Google uses information from partner sites and participating vendors' advertising choices. These controls do not necessarily stop all advertising or cookie use.
Before enabling ads, we will configure and test required consent and privacy-choice controls, identify the active advertising partners, and update this policy. Those controls are not yet active. Advertising and commissions will not influence test results.
Affiliate links
Some clearly identified links may generate commissions. Clicking an affiliate link takes you to a merchant's website. The merchant's privacy policy applies there. Any information you provide to the merchant is handled by that merchant, not by these device tests.
Children and contact
The website is not directed toward children under 13. The website does not collect personal information through its tests. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include in that message. For privacy questions, contact [email protected]. Avoid sending sensitive information or private audio and video.
